Harmony of the rising sun

An artistic bridge between Japan and Monaco

The exhibition focuses on introducing FEELINGARTS and includes photographs of 25 bodhisattvas and Buddhist statues considered important cultural properties and art gods at Kyoto's Sokujyoin, bonsai trees, Satoru Omae ceramics donated to the museum Fujita from Osaka, incense sticks, Kobe cowhide rackets, frames of traditional Japanese techniques and hanging scrolls.

Feelings Arts is a sensory art that comes from the fusion of paint, light and music. Left for the United States in 1980, Mr. Yoshihiro KITAMURA, contemporary artist, created an original method which uses the Japanese ink painting technique, which creates a fantastic space. KITAMURA's performance is a sensory art that opens a dialogue between painting, light, sound and the mind of each member of the audience. As such, his art effectively helps people purify their minds and is now attracting the attention of specialists in the field of medicine and social sciences.

Emerging Heroes, by Akira Kitade, tells the story of several Jewish Holocaust survivors who were able to flee Europe thanks to the help of diplomat Chiune Sugihara, who provided them with "life visas" for Japan. Akira Kitade, who drew inspiration from an old album containing the photos of seven of these Sugihara survivors to uncover the story of what happened after the photos were taken, cleverly shedding light on the actions of other diplomatic heroes who helped Jewish refugees in this "highly entertaining and gripping sequel to his book Visas of Life and the Epic Journey: How Sugihara's Survivors Reached Japan."

Ceramic artist, exhibited at the Fujita Museum of Art, Osaka, Japan, Satoro Omae describes his art as "The raw material of my work is made up of old pieces of pottery. Even the broken and shattered pieces are warm. Through them, I travel through time and glimpse into the lives of the people who made them. I may collect these fragments and connect them together during the process of making the pottery."

The exhibition, proposed and organized by Ms. Yukari Kitamura, with the help of the Espace 22 team would not have been possible without the support of its partners listed below :
