Shapes of Light
‘Shapes of Light’ is an exhibition that brings together four artists, two photographers and two painters. Photographer Maja Kerin challenges the boundaries of classic photography with her abstract and colourful art. The artistically and technically inventive use of the camera enables her to capture the subtle flow of energy and vibrations in the world around us. Her works contain an inherent emotional harmony that transmits to the viewer. Photographer and vintage car enthusiast Daniel Boss makes classical black and white photographs. His motifs are often from Monaco, a place that is close to his heart. He combines details of cars with buildings and nature. By the use of rare perspectives and crops he captures the elegance and beauty of his subject.
Painter Liudmila Sun’s works are bright and richly coloured landscapes from the Mediterranean area. She uses a striking technique, combining an impressionistic approach with the use of gold and silver leaf added to the canvas. The result is a luminescent art work that sparkles with life. Painter Ebba Balestra di Mottola is a classically trained artist who has worked extensively with portraiture as well as other figurative motifs. The works combine a traditional meticulous paining technique as inherited by the great masters with abstract elements and a sensitivity to contemporary life. ’Shapes of Light* is a visual feast for the eye and the mind, inviting the viewer on a journey through time and space to celebrate the beauty and the joy of life.
